Weekly Plan

Learn how to plan your family's dinners for the week using Dinnerbord's weekly calendar.

The weekly plan is the heart of Dinnerbord. It gives you a clear view of what your household will have for dinner each day and feeds into your grocery list.

Navigating the weekly view

Open the Weekly Plan from the sidebar. By default it shows the current week (Monday to Sunday). Use the arrows at the top to move between weeks.

Suggesting a dinner

Any household member can suggest a dinner for a day:

  1. Click on a day slot.
  2. Search for a recipe from your library or type a name.
  3. Submit your suggestion. It appears in that day's slot marked as a suggestion.

Supporting a suggestion

If someone else has already suggested a dinner for a day, you can support it by clicking the +1 button on the suggestion. When everyone in the household has supported a suggestion, it is automatically planned.

Verifying a dinner (organizers)

Organizers can approve any suggestion at any time by clicking Verify on it. This marks it as the planned dinner for that day regardless of how many +1s it has received.

Tips

  • Create a recipe called "Takeout" or "Pizza night" with no ingredients for nights when you're not cooking. That way those days show up in the plan without adding anything to the grocery list.
  • Plan the whole week on Sunday to keep the grocery list accurate throughout the week.
